Flourish

There is something beautiful about the way living things flourish in the places they are meant to be. An alpine wildflower thrives high in the mountains, blooming in conditions that would challenge most other plants. As I painted this piece, I reflected on how people flourish depending on their environment as well. It is a reminder that being surrounded by the right people, place, ect. allows us to become our brightest selves.

This scene depicts Taylor Meadows along the trail to The Black Tusk in Garibaldi Provincial Park, British Columbia. Featured throughout the painting are alpine paintbrush, arctic lupine, arnica, western pasqueflower, and alpine speedwell—wildflowers that bring this remarkable landscape to life.
